Aging
Aging in Jagat is similar to aging on Earth, which has aided in the creation of mixed race families.
Jagatians consider it very important that every person remains on purpose. They believe that everybody, both Jagatians and humans, have a special gift to share with the worlds. It is considered a great sin to withhold that gift, because not only would one be depriving themselves, but they would also be depriving their fellow people. For this reason, Jagatians start nurturing this gift extremely early. From birth people know that they are not special, but that they are very important and needed.
Children are homeschooled until the age of 15. At this time, they start their trainings and apprenticeships. Apprenticeships usually end at age 23. People of Jagat are considered adults when they finish their apprenticeships. The vast majority of people take training of some sort; even royals will spend their childhood learning things such as etiquette and eloquent speaking.
After 23, people are considered full members of whatever craft they were apprenticed in. Every year a world wide occupation ceremony is held in honor of all the hard work and dedication that is put into one's training.
The people of Jagat will typically start families in their late 20s to early 30s, although they are physically capable of reproduction from their early 20s right up to around age 40.
